About majors

The Graduate School of Public Administration was established in March 2001 to implement the spirit of truth, love, and service, the educational philosophy of Catholic University, through public sector education. The Graduate School of Public Administration aims to systematically educate and train new administrative theories and analysis methods through an interdisciplinary approach to produce administrators who have the professional administrative skills necessary for national development and administrative development based on the Catholic spirit and who want to study public administration in depth. It also aims to become a professional school that plays a role in combining theory and practice through various mid- and short-term educational programs.


General Administration and Local Government Major

This major aims to cultivate administrators and policy experts who can efficiently and effectively manage government and quasi-government agencies and have expertise in government policies. It is a course of study that enables students to develop theoretical understanding of local government and related practical skills, and guides them to become competent and responsible managers by teaching administrative ethics and philosophy, public sector organization, human resources, government accounting, budgeting, and management science. In addition, the course covers theories of efficient local public administration and local policy, and provides special lectures by current local government leaders and adjunct professors with extensive field experience to help students develop problem-solving skills for various local policy issues.

Medical and Health Administration Major

This major aims to cultivate medical policy, hospital administrators, and nursing administrators. To this end, students are trained in theories, knowledge, and practical application of health care administration to develop professional abilities to actively cope with various administrative problems in hospitals and health care organizations. We aim to contribute to the development of the health care system by educating and training people who are or will be engaged in hospitals, health care organizations, various research institutes, and educational institutions to grow into advanced health care professionals.

Detective Science Major

The major aims to cultivate the professional ethics that detectives should have, acquire systematic theoretical and legal knowledge of the detective system, as well as practical training on various detective work, and foster experts in the detective field with specialized practical knowledge.

The Graduate School of Public Administration has graduated many local councilors, mid-level officials in central and local governments, employees of public corporations and industrial complexes, journalists, medical professionals, private company employees, civil society activists, etc. Many of our graduates have also earned doctoral degrees and are working as experts in related fields. All of them are alumni of the School of Public Administration and form a strong network base.
